Dexter played host to both Ann Arbor Skyline and Monroe in SEC Red Double Dual action on Tuesday. The boys split, beating Monroe 92-41 while falling to Skyline 78-59. The Girls dominate both teams by beating Monroe 111-26, and Skyline 85-58.
The Girls started the day in the Field Events sweeping all three top spots in the Pole
Vault. Raiden Kipfmiller took first at 13’0”, followed by Mikala Sposito 2nd at 9’6”, and Bethany Simons taking 3rd at 8’6”. Dexter was equally dominant in the Shot Put, taking all three spots as well. Kera Root won with a toss of 30’3.5”, Lily Burns placing 2nd at 28’5.25” and Lily Trinkle finishing 3rd at 28’1.5” In the Discus Trinkle was runner-up with a throw of 85’1” and Burns 3rd at 82’6”. In the High Jump Tia Schultz took second with a jump of 4’6”, and Simone Kasischke 3rd at 4’6. Larkin Pham won the Long Jump with a mark of 14’1”.
Out on the track, Dexter went 1-2 in the Girls 100m dash with Autumn Taylor winning with 14.19, and Pham 2nd with 14.28. Another Burns, Chloe Burns won the 200m with a time of 28.19, while teammates Kipfmiller, and Sposito finished the sweep going 2nd and 3rd with 29.22, and 29.68 respectively. Burns also took 2nd in the 400m with 1:02.58, and Lillian Mitchell was 3rd with 1:05.13. Mitchell was also Dexter's top 800m runner taking 2nd with 2:28.56. The 100 Hurdles had Aspen Taylor winning with 19.54, and Kendra Conklin 2nd at 20.86. Conklin was also 2nd in the 300 Hurdles clocking in at 1:01.70.
Distance races saw Annabel O’Haver take 3rd in the 1600m with 5:51.58, and Antonia Bruckman 3rd.12:49.57. And the Girls 4x200m Relay finished 1st with Lauren Simpson, Kipfmiller, Debbie McCoy, and Sposito crossing the tape at 1:55.17.
Dexter Boys sprinters were led by 110 Hurdler Josiah Hayter winning the event with a time of 17.22, and Francisco Moralez-Leverett 2nd with 18.76. Hayter was also the winner of the 300 Hurdles crossing the finish at 47.73. 100m runners Keaton Murphy-Walstad, and Kay Reed went 2-3 with times of 11.87, and 12.11. Alex Hoffman was 3rd in the 400m with a time of 53.43.
Two Relay teams won starting with the 4x100, made up of Reed, Moralez-Leverett, Noah Boyce, and Elijah Smith running 47.89. The 4x800 was just as successful, placing 1st with Owen Ackerman, Rylan Teddy, Caleb Snyder, and Brandon Anderson finishing the race with a time of 8:29.98.
Field Events were highlighted with a sweep in the High Jump. Ryan Kerr won with 5’10, followed by Austin Terpak at 5’8” and two Dexter jumpers finishing tied for 3rd. Kyle Gerharter and Kai Reed both went 5’4”. The Pole Vault was another sweep with Clark Sheldon winning at 13’0’, Kaden Korcek 2nd at 12’6” and Benjamin Sackman 3rd at 12’6”. Cooper Thompson placed 2nd in the Long Jump with a jump of 16’0.25”, and Joshua Burby 3rd with 14’8.25.
Dexter will host the April Showers Invitational this Saturday at Al Ritt Stadium.
