Dexter Track & Field traveled to Allen Park for the Allen Park CoEd Relays on Saturday. The unique meet featured 16 schools where the Dreadnaughts finished in 4th place with 77 points behind 1st place Oxford (105), Lake Orion (98), and Grosse Pointe South (85.5) rounded out the top 3.
Each event was combined with the top 2 performances from the boys team and girls team to have one overall score to determine the winning school for each event. Blended with both conventional, and exclusive events to the meet, Dexter places several teams in the top 8.
Beginning in the field, Dexter took 6th in the Shot put with Lily Trinkle, Lily Burns, Cameron Clark, and Cooper Thompson with a total distance of 129’1.75”, and 5th in the Discus with Trinkle, Kera Root, Jacob Alvarado, and Colin McIntyre throwing 365’9”. The Pole Vaulters took the top spot with Bethany Simons, Yaa Oduro, Barrett Keller, and David Burby with a total height of 39’3”, and the High Jumpers finished first as well with Tia Schults, Simone Kasischke, Austin Terpak, and Ryan Kerr jumping a total of 20’6”. The Long jumpers took 8th with 58’9.5 with the team of Bethany Simons, Ashley Rennell, Keaton Murphy-Walstad, and Cooper Thompson.
Out on the track, Dexter continued to place in several events including a 2nd place in
the Cross country 2 mile relay with Owen Ackerman, Caleb Snyder, Annabel O’Haver, and Hannah Sisson timed at 50:41.14 and in 2 different Sprint Medley Relays. In the
SMR (100-300-600-200) Lily Mitchell, Raiden Kipfmiller, Kai Reed, and Alex Hoffman were 2nd at 2:59.98, and 7th in the SMR (200-100-100-200) with Tia Schultz Noah Boyce Autumn Taylor, Owen Waters running 1:21.46. Dexter's Distance Medley relay won the event with a clocking of 14:52.32 with the team of Annabel O’Haver, Brandon Anderson, Addison Bruckman, and Owen Ackerman.
In 2 of the Allen Park featured relays, Dexter took 3rd in the Jaguar B Relay (800-400-200-1600) with Lily Mitchell, Raiden Kipfmiller, Brandon Anderson, and Charlie Munson, and took 4th in the Jaguar G Relay (800-400-200-1600) took 4th with Julian Linebaugh, Addison Bruckman, Owen Waters, Antonia Bruckman.
Dexter competes next on Tuesday at home hosting SEC Rivals Ann Arbor Skyline, and Monroe.
