Dexter hosted Huron High School, and Ypsilanti Lincoln on Tuesday at Al Ritt stadium. Originally scheduled to be hosted by Huron, the meet was canceled and rescheduled due to weather. Both the Boys and the Girls won against each team with the boys beating Huron 85 to 52, and Lincoln 88 to 49. The Lady Dreads topped Huron 95 to 41, and Lincoln 73 to 64.
Top performers in the field events for the boys were James Livingston winning both the Shot Put at 45’6”and Discus at 126’5.5”. Teammates Danny Gilbert was 3rd in the Shot at 40’4” and Devon Durliat 2nd in the Discus at 116’0.5”. Cole Sheldon won the Long Jump at 20’7” and the Pole Vault at 15’4”. Clark Sheldon took 2nd at 13’0”, and Barrett Keller was 3rd at 11’6”. Sam Fitzpatrick won the High Jump at 6’0”.
Out on the track, Cole Cabana won the 100m at 10.91, and was 2nd in the 200m with 22.15. Brandon Anderson was 3rd in both the 400m, and the 800m with times of 52.78, and 2:01.43 respectively. Hurdles had Francisco Morales-Leverett placing 2nd in the 300 Hurdles at 44.24, and Josiah Hayter taking 3rd at 44.46. Hayter was also 2nd in the 110 High Hurdles with a 17.01. In the distance races, Josh Lamb was 3rd in the 1600m at 4:36.17, and Owen Ackerman 3rd in the 3200m with a time of 10:52.38. The boys placed 1st in 2 relay races, the 4x400 with Lucas Anderson, Josh Lamb, Alex Hoffman, Brandon Anderson won with 3:37.80. And the 4x800m with Adam Hauser, Sam Gibson, Kaden Jensen, Caleb Snyder at 9:00.57.
Girls Field events saw Jamie Giese winning the Shot Put at 39’5”, and taking 2nd in the Discus with a throw of 106’4.5”. Katie Krueger was 3rd with 98’5.5”. Simone Kasischek was the top High Jumper going 4’10”, Maiah Dunham took 2nd in the Long Jump at 14’2.5”, and Brooklyn Whitehead was 3rd at 12’11”. The Pole Vault took the top 3 spots with Sophia Mettes winning at 12’3”, Ellie Manly 2nd at 9’6”, and Ella Gasiorek 3rd at 9’6”.
In the sprints, Isabella Gaetino was 3rd in the 200m with a time of 28.26, and Hannah Berenson was 1st in the 400m at 1:02.27 followed by Ashley Mitchell in 2nd at 1:03.26. Mitchell was also 3rd in the open 800m finishing at 2:29.99. Meghan McGill was 2nd in the 100m Hurdles crossing the finish with a time of 20.16 Dexter had strong performances in the distance races with Amanda McGill and Hannah McComas going 1-2 in the 1600m with times of 5:30.05 and 5:31.21 respectively. The 3200 had 3 Dexter Girls placing with a 1-2-3 sweep. Annissa Sisson at 13:17.12, Antonia Bruckman 13:17.83, and Stella Niemi at 13:46.08. Dexters’ 4x800 Relay team of Annabel O'Haver, Addison Bruckman, Addison Streetman, Kate Varitek won with a time of 10:39.22.
Next up for Dexter is the SEC Red Conference Championship this Friday at Ypsilanti Lincoln High School.
