Dreadnaughts Compete at The Golden Triangle

Dexter Track & Field traveled to Saline High Schools Hornet Stadium on Friday to compete in the Saline Golden Triangle. While there was no team score kept, the highly competitive meet featured 32 schools from throughout Southeastern Michigan, and the West Side of the State.


The top Girls individual performers for the Dreadnaughts were Annabel O’Haver finishing 2nd in the 1600m run with a time of 5:20.33, Shot Putter Lily Burns finishing 6th, with a toss of 33’ 8”, along with two Dexter Pole Vaulters. Raiden Kipfmiller was second with a jump of 10’ 7”, and teammate Debbie McCoy finished in sixth place, clearing the bar at 9’ 7”.



The Lady Dreads had two relay teams finish in the top 8, starting with the 4x800 relay. The team of O’Haver, Maddie Rokke-Smith, Addison Bruckman, and Lillian Mitchell were fourth, crossing the finish line with a time of 9:58.74. And in the last race of the evening, the 4x400 relay with Bruckman, Amelia Cribbins, Mitchell, and Rokke-Smith finished in 6th, with a time of 4:52.10.


On the boys side, there were three individual athletes who placed. Starting on the track, Vaughn Meyer took seventh in the 1600m with a time of 4:37.38, and in the Pole Vault, Clark Sheldon was runner-up jumping 14’ 1” while Benjamin Sackman finished fifth, clearing the bar at 13’ 1”


The relay events had two Dexter teams place, beginning with the 4x800 relay with Brandon Anderson, Owen Ackerman, Kaden Jensen, and Rylan Teddy running 8:22.03, which was fast enough to take eighth, followed by the boys 4x400 relay. The team of Ackerman, Anderson, Julian Linebaugh, and Alex Hoffman took fourth with a time of 3:40.12.


The Dreadnaughts will finish up the SEC RED season by hosting the SEC RED Championships this Friday at Al Ritt Stadium.
